A New Arrival in the midst of COVID19
Things never go as planned, do they? 2020 was SUPPOSED to be the “Year of the Eye Doctor”…but instead, 2020 has brought the entire world to a grinding halt thanks to the COVID19 pandemic- businesses have shuttered, schools have closed, jobs have been lost, families are separated, & anxieties and fears have skyrocketed. It has been a period of unknown that the world has never encountered at such a great magnitude before.
For public health reasons, routine eye care has been postponed. As you all know, at Cornerstone, we temporarily closed our doors and limited our eye care services to urgent emergencies only to safeguard the well-being of our patients and staff from the virus. It was one of the hardest decisions to make, especially as a new business. But in spite of this, we are so thankful for everyone’s support during this time! We appreciate the contact lens orders and messages of encouragement we’ve received the past seven weeks from our wonderful Cornerstone community.
In the midst of the virus’s darkness, there’s been a ray of joy for our family. Justin and I have been busy with a new arrival. On April 23rd, we were blessed with the birth of a baby boy, Caleb Han Landolfi. Baby boy was a few days late but arrived safely and in good health. Today is actually his one-week birthday and he has more than made up for the new parent sleep deprivation with his cuteness and snuggles. Thank you for your well-wishes toward our new little family! The messages we’ve received the past week regarding Caleb’s imminent arrival have been so thoughtful and sweet, and have emphasized just how much we cherish the relationships we’ve been able to make through Cornerstone with all of you!
We are planning to open our doors to routine eye care very soon. Our number one priority is to be able to do so with public safety in mind.
Because of our low-volume/personalized-service business model, we are in a unique position to offer quality eye care in compliance with social distancing measures.
Our office will be scheduling one patient per hour, with only one patient in the store with the doctor and/or single staff member at all times.
Any frame adjustments will be scheduled & glasses/contact lens pick-ups can be dispensed via curb-side service
All frames will be thoroughly disinfected and gloves will be offered to all patients who would like to try on frames.
All persons in the office will be required to wear a mask/face covering.
As the time nears for us to reopen, we’ll release more details! We can not wait to see and serve you all again soon.
